Role Description
We are seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 5 years post graduate or relevant workplace experience to join our cost management consultancy. We work in union with both Clients and Resource Providers to deliver a high-quality service at all stages of their construction projects.
You will need to have excellent communication skills working on a day-to-day basis with the Management team. You will have a good technical and financial understanding of construction projects and exceptional client facing skills.
As an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will be included in the administration of several projects at various stages. You will use previous industry experience and work on your own initiative to ensure that all schemes are delivered on time and within budget under the guidance of the Senior Management team.
General Duties & Responsibilities
- Take off and measuring as necessary
- Accountable for all aspects surrounding project accounts
- Undertake monthly cost reporting
- Produce bills of quantities/ pricing documents
- Prepare and issue tender documentation
- Liaise with clients to resolve any matters regarding agreements, valuations, documentation and variations
- Provide assistance to the Project Manager
- Compile cost estimates / cost plans
- Suggest value engineering initiatives
- Track and complete procurement process
- Assist with letters of intent / appointment
- Assist with preparation of contract documents
- Assist with production of cash flow forecasts
- Undertake valuations & assess variations
- Assist with post contract & cost control monitoring
- Prepare final accounts (both client and contractor side)
- Assist in establishing client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies
- Ensure the commercial targets are achieved including project and programme cost, quality, and time
- Factor in health and safety regulations
- Identify opportunities and risks
- Attend pre-contract and post-contract meetings
- Manage and deliver cost & value reconciliation (CBR) appraisals on live projects on a weekly/biweekly basis.
Qualifications/Experience
- A degree/HNC/HND or work experience related to Quantity Surveying or construction
- A detailed knowledge of Quantity Surveying
- Minimum of 5 years post graduate/workplace Quantity Surveying experience
- Excellent analytical skills to make informed, balanced business decision and reporting
- Confident in working autonomously
- Proven track record of delivering construction projects
- Excellent communication and oral skills

- Competent with CAD / Measurement software
- Sound knowledge with JCT Suite of contracts
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence
- Fully insured vehicle suitable to carry out your day-to-day operations
- Willing to travel within the UK
- Hold a valid CSCS certificate (Ideally)
